alternate shipping methods?

Is overnight the only option concerning shipping fish? I was considering using USPS express because the weather has been good lately. i have a styro-lined box and could put either a heat/cold pack. What do you guys think? thanks

They may run out of oxygen and amonia may rise too high in the water. IMHO

what if i put 1 fish per large bag and put extra water in it?

that would work with more water. But will not eliminate ammonia build up. Instead use some amquel solution and use breathable bags.

USPS next day express SHOULD be there the next day but you need to check on their website to make sure.

why would someone go through the heartache and risk of dying/sick fish. the fish are under lots of stress during shipping and i would think that you should minimize stress as much as possible. i think that you should ship the fastest method possible. it is totally worth it when you are talking about fish that are expensive, whats a few more dollars on a $75 fish.

What's wrong with USPS express? Guaranteed next day by 12pm usually.

i had a shipment from liveaquaria that lasted 4 days when a storm hit. the only thing that died was a shrimp, all fish and snails made it no problem.

nothing is wrong with usps express. i am just saying that shipping methods should be next day delivery. that way if something goes wrong its 2 or maybe 3 days.

if you choose a method that usually takes 2-3 days, then if anything goes wrong you are looking at 5 days, just flirting with death.
