After loosing power, I racked my brain long and hard to discover a way to run my main pump to keep water circulation in my tank. I did come up with a great solution and thought I would pass it on to everyone, even if it is only to help you for future storms. I live in a Condo so there was no way of running a generator. But if you go to Walmart you can solve your problems for about 80 bucks. Back in the auto section they sell a Power Inverter that hooks to a car battery. So buy a car battery for about 45 bucks and the power inverter for about 30 bucks. It will give you one power plug, which you can use to plug your main pump into. I dont know how long one battery lasts because my power came on about 8 hours after I started using the battery. But worst case scenario you can recharge and/or even buy more car batteries. Sorry I couldnt pass this information on sooner, but I do not have cable or internet at home, and I did not come to work yesterday because I was trying to solve the tank problem and keep my dog cool.
Now my only problem is that even though our power came back, our central air units did not so I have no air conditioning. My tank is up to 88 degrees so Im praying for rain and for the air to come back today.
Best Wishes,
Todd
