Am I insane?

I love HQI MH systems. I have had some very large tanks in the past. I am going with a standard 120 this go around and I always go overboard on lighting.

In this iteration, I just purchased a sfiligoi 4 250 w mh fixture for my 4 foot tank. My initial thought was to go with 150 w, but I want to hang the light way above the tank since it is in wall.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Which sfiligoi fixture did you purchase?

It would be cost affective to just do 2 400w halides. But that will be a bunch of light.

Boys, I don't think that was a typo ...

Sfiligoi DDE or DSE fixture is what he's describing, assuredly. PAR monster !

Any updates, jimmy ?

Run them side by side and perpendicular..if your talking about a pair of 2x250/4x24t5 fixtures.
Sure are maxing that tank out with lighting.Ha

I don't think it will be "maxing out" the tank. I've always kind of felt, its more to do with what coral you're keeping rather then what size tank its in. I have a hamilton Cebu sun 400w x 2 by 4 ho t5s, on a 4 foot tank, I just make sure to carefully acclimate the corals.

That is awesome. I run a 250w radium on a 15 gallon tank. It also has led attinics, The growth and look is great. The more light the better.
