am I overstocked?

yellow tang / purple tang differences:

1. You can buy 3 yellows for the price of a purple!
2. Purple is more aggressive, grows quicker, and will get bigger.

In my view, they equally as hardy, equally as beautiful, and equally active etc. If introduced in the correct order, the difference in aggression and size is negligable, and in my view the only difference worth noting is your personal preference...... thats why I got both :) ..... but my tank is a little bigger;)

They are both Zebrasomas. Will they fight? A purple tang is actually looking like the btter option, as a larger, more agressive tang would probably be more compatible in this tank.

To be honest, while I wouldn't recommend as such, you would probalby get away with it if you got diferent sized specimens..... bigger yellow tang, but put the purple in first......

My guys challenge one another every now and then, but my tank is 8'x2'x2'..... so they have a bit more space to move around in than you do......

To be hoenst, I'd say better not to, and if were me, in a 150 gal tank, I would go with just the one ..... and I think the purple tang would contrast the harlequin tusk's colours beautifully.....
