Am I ready for a cleanup crew?

Hi. Brand new 72 gallon with 40 pounds of live sand and 20 pounds of live rock scatter amongst 50 pounds of base rock. I'm about 5 days in since filing the tank and burying a raw shrimp in my sand. I have a lot of algae growth on the scattered live rock. Water testing appears that I have 0 ammonia (down from yesterday's .25). , .25 nitrite and .25 nitrate
I'll attach my readings - but I just want opinions on if I'm ready for a 30percent water change and a cleanup crew this weekend?

I agree, no water change needed until after your tank is completely finished cycling, same with any stocking. Patience is your best virtue right now, as hard as it may be. Also, if you have a good fish store close by, get them to confirm your water results before adding stock. It can be difficult to judge your readings in the beginning, especially with the ammonia, and nitrites. I was where you are a year ago, a newbie saltwater tank owner.
Biggest thing you need to do now is take your time, and continue seeking the good advice form the far more advanced/expert tank owners here. I'm leaving that the hard way. LOL

NOTHING good happens fast in this hobby... Do NOT RUSH..

IMO wait another 3 weeks... I know.. I know...
Use that time to learn... If you were ready you would have known you weren't ready :p

Yep. Read the stickies at the top of this forum. By the time you've read and digested the information there, you'll be much further into the cycle.

:lmao: Ive been out of the game for about 10 years and after rereading the stickies twice I realized how much I have forgotten over the years!

Slow down and reap the benefits later. Good luck and post pictures when you start adding livestock.
