i have a JBJ nano cube with stock lighting, and xtra powerhead, a 600 i think, dont remem , also i changed the back chem filtration to a refugium, the tank has been set up for a year but ive never tried clams, thnx for your help in advanced, if you want more info on the tank post here plz

What type of lighting do you have on that tank........

Clams need alot more light then stock lighting IMO......

Sorry, that lighting is insufficient for any clam, even the lower light ones. The bare minimum for a maxima or crocea in your tank would be a 70 watt metal halide bulb. For the lower light clams you would want to add at least another 64 watts of PCs, and even then, I wouldn't get one, as the lower light clams will get too big. On top of that, a small tank is usually too unstable in terms of water chemistry to support a clam.

thanks for your help, i wont be getting a clam now, i just wanted 2 make shure not to get something that my tank cant hadle, and the tank is very stable, and has been, i will be getting more pc lighting but i still wont get a clam, when i change my 75 to reef, which should be soon, i will prob get one, but i will consent this forum first, thnx
