Amendment round 2

Based on a previous thread....some members decided there should be a change of council duties. Currently we have in our bylaws a "council member-membership chairperson". It has been proposed that we change this to "council member-Education chairperson"

So we need language to discribe this postion....please list in the thread the language you think could best discribe their duties.

Because of this change we would be eliminating the council member-membership position. It has also been proposed that the Membership chairpersons duties will now become the responsibility of the Council member- Secretary.

Thoughts??

Rather than have a strict set of responsibilities for this position, I think it should be more loosely defined to allow for creativity.

However, I think any description we tie to it should emphasize it's relation to any type of education concerning natural coral reefs, how our hobby effects them, and how our hobby can help to preserve them.

While DIY projects are nice, that is not the type of "education" I consider this position to be about. Although, anything that helps us do a better job of keeping livestock healthy, including DIY, can additionally fall under this position as long as the current holder of the position wishes to take that on. But I think that would come more in the form of articles than an instructional event.

My original suggestion for this position is based on several of our members having a deep interest in this area and I figured it would give them a little more opportunity to do something with it.

Agreed...so how should we work it :D Im a cut & Paste kinda guy

Definately a loose set of responsibilities in my opinion. Strict will only cause arguments down the road, and more need to change the bylaws in the future.
