American Marine Pinpoint Wireless Thermometer

Hello,

I ordered a American Marine Pinpoint Wireless Thermometer about two weeks ago. Unfortunetly the main unit fell in the water and it is not working any longer even after drying out and a battery change.

Am I out of luck and need to purchase a new one or is there something that can be done?

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your post, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I checked with one of our techs and they mentioned to me that you may be able to salvage the unit by using an Electrical type of cleaner very carefully. This type of cleaner helps remove all traces of salt and that most electrical cleaners can be found at your local hardware store. Just be aware that most of these cleaners will harm any plastic parts.

Unfortunately the warranty on the unit does not cover for water damages.

Bruce I would try my suggestion first and see if that resolves anything for you, if that does not work feel free to give me a call, I can see what I can do if you want to purchase a new one.
