Among the reef has gigs available now

Cool, he's sending me an invoice for one. Do you thing he pre treats?

I would definitely plan to treat. I'm going to give mine a day in a cycled 40 breeder and hope I get lucky, but I have a 10g ready. I think it's always about 50/50 to survive with gigs that arent established and coming from someone else's tank. I'm hoping since these just came in they will arrive in pretty good shape. He did tell me they have cipro but realistically it's pretty impossible for them to be treated with cipro in a large tank with so many anemones.

I got a green too. Told him to make sure not to send me the Haddoni hanging out in there, lol. I have my 10 gallon running with a large piece of rock and a bag of matrix media from my DT sump. I also have an unopened bottle of cipro. Hoping to get lucky too.

They look to be in pretty decent shape in the pics he sent me. Especially for only arriving that day. I was wanting it to get shipped yesterday but he was going to be closed. I am confident he won't send them if they look to be declining though. He's going to send me another pic before he ships.

Pfan, do you plan on treating regardless or are you going to watch it for a few days? This definitely feels like a more confident purchase than from somewhere like live aquaria. Did you purchase the additional guarantee?

I'm going to see what it looks like when it arrives. If it looks good in the bag I'll watch it for a day. If not it will go straight to treatment. I didn't ask about any guarantee.

Redneck QT up and running.....and waiting.

The 40 is cycled with just some live rock and a hang on the back filter. I use a 10g for during treatment
Pfan, I have a small tetra hang on filter on my 10 gallon QT. Should I run a carbon filter cartridge initially and remove filter cartridge if I need to treat?

I would definitely remove the carbon if you treat. I'd romve all the rock too aside from the one the anemone is on if you treat to.

He just sent me a pic of mine today before shipping. Still looks heathly.

For treatment you really want a bare tank. Anything with significant amount of bacterial will increase the chance of registrant bacterial. Water quality is being address by remove discharge, change water when it is clowndy AND daily 100% water change.

QT need to be a lot more stable than a minimal filtration. My QT system is a full blown 30 gal reef that is running all the time. No corals unless they are in there for QT purpose

Ok. I currently have mechanical filtration, 2 pieces of rock and it has been seeded with a bag of matrix rock media taken from my main sump. I will remove all but rock it attaches to if treatment is needed.

This is the one I'm being sent. He said they had just moved it from the main tank to this container to prep for shipping so it was a little disturbed when pic was taken. What do you guys think?

Mine is still in the holding tank. Tough to tell too much with the distortion from the surface agitation.

Looks a little flat to me but if it was just moved that might explain it. I'm assuming we will both end up using cipro. Seems to be needed most of the time. In my experience at least.
