racer- I had them exactly 1 year before they spawned. Good luck!
 
racer Let us know how that goes. Post some pictures too. This thread's lots better with pictures. Maybe this might be a dumb question to some of you, but what do they do that shows that they are getting ready to spawn?
 
There are a number of signs that could signify that they're preparing to spawn.

Increased defensive response in a certain area of the tank (some even go so far as to fight off snails and crabs who venture too close), picking at or cleaning off a spot on the rock work to prepare it as a laying site, and sometimes an overall increase in aggression can tell an aquarist that his/her clowns are getting ready to spawn, but you may not be able to tell for sure until you find a clutch of eggs.
