From what I've read there seem to be two theories on acclimation when it comes to mail order fish.
1) Match temp/salinity and dump the fish. Pro; reduce stress and possibly death caused by increasing ammonia when the bag is exposed to air. Con; could be shock to fish if parameters aren't close especially if you're going from a lower SG to higher.
2) Float bag and drip or 1/2 every 5 minutes or so. Pro; match all tank parameters. Con' fish sits in water with potentially deadly ammonia levels.
Couldn't I add a product such as Amquel + to neutralize ammonia and then do a slow drip solving both problems? I'm going to lower SG of QT tank a little less than shipper so that won't be a shock no matter which way I go.
