No, What if one pump broke down why you wasn't there? It is much easier to have an overflow.

The glass holes kit comes with a diamond hole saw for you to drill your own holes (just remember to only use the weight of the drill to press down with). They've simplified the process greatly by including the bit, bulkhead and overflow. If you don't have anything to push the water up you could even order the pump from them as well to save shipping. Check out the video in the link that Kar posted it shows the entire process.

well idk if im going to have an over flow box. i dont get why you need an overflow box? why cant you just have a L bend off the bulkhead?

If the pump turns off all the water from the tank will drain to the sump, the overflow prevents this happening and makes the tank look neater.

your not listening to that box you mean to tell me prevents an actual overflow? no the hole in the tank prevents the over flow which i would have i just wouldnt have a box where you hear water splashing over it
