all im doing is just the bulkhead with a strainer. obviously i will have a return pump and the stuff i ordered is rated for 1500 off of glassholes but i think im going to get a pump rated at 1200 just so that im never pushing it.. does that sound ok?

Yeah, that sounds fine. It's usually a good idea to have a spare pump on hand. A Mag 12 would put out around 1200gph.

:) It's a personal preference of course but for a larger tank having overflow boxes (2 would be better than 1) will help with skimming the surface. But, it is up to you! Hope to see some pictures soon :)

It depends on how DIY you are. If there are no scratches that could work. But I think better deals are to be had. You would have to upgrade most of that if you wanted more temperamental corals.

Rather than having 2 overflows you can have 1 large on in the middle and have 2 drains. Like Tim mentioned, it's better for surface skimming but down to personal preference.

i already have an idea for my overflow. but some people are saying to have two over flows. but i only ordered stuff for one so i think im just going to stick with one.

I know but I only bought stuff for one sorry. If one is not enough I will add another

I would still stick with the two drains as Kar suggested

Honestly, I wouldnt. It isn't a branded light unit. I would buy one that is well known and one that you know will work.

But alot of these are cheaply made and cheaply sold. And what about after sales service? If you buy from a reputable dealer such as Marine Depot then they are also a sponsor of RC so you are guaranteed a good customer service.
