Anderson Family Reef - 1200 Gallon System

dca.. what are you using for nutrient removal? pellets, vodka, zeo. ect. i know you have quite a large bio-load.

Wow that is an impressively massive tank.

I wish I was gifted with DIY skills.. Even if someone cuts the stuff out I tend to make a mess gluing things together.

Thanks buddy!

I hear you! It still takes some careful building to get good seams. The result is perfect equipment when the smoke clears!!!

Spend lots of time preparing your edges!!! That's my recommendation!!! :wavehand:

NIce pics as always and nice pickup on the reactor. Just curious, to get those pimped out top view pics, do you turn all circulation off to achieve this?

Thank you sir! I don't turn off the pumps just use the lookdown viewer and snap some shots with my phone! One day I will actually use a good camera! :lolspin:

I think he has a see-ring. Place it on the water and shoot through it crystal clear.

Correct you are sir! Good call!

Old school - Large skimmer, water changes, carbon, GFO, filter socks changed three times a week...

Great work, as usual Dave.
How's the Greg Granny doing? I love that coral!

Thanks man! I'll snap some pics of it soon. It's doing great! Thanks for asking!

Snazzy with a capital SNAZ. hmm that doesn't sound quite right.

But yeah, I used to love taking top down pictures of my tank, got a piece of acrylic tube cut to exactly the length of the barrel of my point and shoot, and held right under the surface, no worries about reflections from the light, bam.... now point and shoots are all flat, no extended lens... bleh. Heck I got one of those "sport" cameras that can shoot underwater... still not as nice. More pixels did not make a better camera.

Mike, I think you are on to something here...That's a great idea!!! Thanks for sharing... my acrylic tools will be used in the near future to build such a device!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

You may remember an earlier post where I had to do this...
