Anderson Family Reef - 1200 Gallon System

I read that you have figi pink reef sand by caribsea how do you like it does it drift around much with all that flow you have in your DT?
Im asking because i want to put either fiji pink or tropic eden miniflakes (both seem pretty close) in my DT and rid it of the bigger size sand but will have alot of flow still the special reef grade is just to big for my liking, thank you for any help and you have a awesome tank!

Hi Jim,
I love my Fiji pink sand! It did move around a bit when I first set up the tank. I adjusted the flow and placed reef rock and corals in the areas that were still prone to move in the currents. I love the color and size! Thanks for the compliments! Good luck my friend!

Man that is a bummer. If they only took their job seriously.

No doubt buddy!

So far it's been a week and almost 4 days and we are still working with the claims department at fedex. Once they agree MRC has to build a new one one off which will take another 2-3 weeks to ship! This is insane! :debi:

This is like a kid on Christmas morning getting his favorite remote controlled car toy only to find out that the freaking elves broke the controller and won't send him a new one for a small eternity! :thumbdown

We file claims at my business with them from time to time...it's unfortunately a very slow process. Good thing is that they normally pay out.

Good luck!

Love the tank!

Thanks for the heads up. It's been two weeks since the body was broken and we are close to having a check from FedEx's insurance company. :headwallblue:

Thanks!

That Orca looks pretty amazing. Looking forward to seeing what it can do and how you like it.

Thanks man! So am I!

We should get the check from FedEx tomorrow then we can place the order with MRC to custom build the $1800 new body and collection cup. I hear that will take at least 3 weeks...

I have the older version of this skimmer and I'd have to tell you its a beast. It is taking care of both of my systems.

Thats great to hear!

Do you do any regular maintenance on your needle wheel? I hope this is an upgrade in more ways than just not having to clean Becketts each Saturday!!
