Anderson Family Reef - 1200 Gallon System

I think you made a wise choice on getting those two out. No need for things to harm or kill other things in your tank. I hope the coral nipping and fish disappearing comes to an end. we all hate that lol

Here is my theme

Baby - 4 letter word
Kids - 4 letter word
Teen - 4 letter word

Then they grow up and move out and you have

Adult -- 5 letter word

My problem is the kids are all in there 20s and I still have 2 home going to college.

Seriously it is easy to get caught up in life and miss the things that do matter. I lost a daughter at 20 and I pray no one here ever has to go thru that but I do have some nice pictures of good times. From the pictures we have seen of trucks in sumps.... it is very clear your kids do matter and that is what is truly matters. It is nice to see someone involved with there kids and seeing some of your pictures like the kids in the fish room has really been nice for me to see.

Joe, I love your theme buddy! :lolspin:

You must be way busy with your college kids at home! :crazy1:

We stay way busy with Soccer, Piano, Scouts, Gymnastics, Dance, Baseball, football, Church, Fishing, etc, etc... So I hear you on getting caught up in life!

I love taking time to teach the kids about the tank and each inhabitant. They all have a favorite fish so I ask them about how their "Midas Blenny" is doing today. They usually tell me it is doing great then go look and make sure it is still alive and in the tank! :lol2:

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I believe she is in a great place!

Thanks for taking the time to chime in. I love my family first then all the other stuff! :lol2:

Agreed!

I will sleep better at night now that I know some potential problems have been crossed off the list!

The tank is looking great! I always liked your idea of keeping the snowflake eel in your reef.. sorry you had to remove him.

Thank you!

It was cool having him in there but he hid most of the time. I had to feed him often large uncooked shrimp raising my bio load/waste so with the SPS I opted to eliminate the management of that dude.

Didn't take you long to fill that up!!!!! Looking good.

BTW....you know you have it rough when your designer clowns can't fit in the 700 gallon and have to be downgraded to the frag tank. JK. Love looking at this tank.

Frag tank is looking good.

Thank you! I'm pretty happy with the success so far!

True! I know! I need to have a coral sale and clear it out! :lolspin:

I would love to have the Wyoming Whites in the main show tank! The two challenges are 1) the three big black percs are mean and 2) the WW's go over the falls in the frag tank all the time. It's only an 8" drop. Hate to have them go over Niagara Falls with the 30" drop and pounding falls! :lolspin:

Not sure if you just took a picture of the "blue time" with the lights but main that color you picked up looks pretty sexy.

Thanks, truth be known...all my pictures are from an iPhone 5. They always come out way blue.

Dang you not playing around.

Yea man, love this stuff! :fish1::fish1::fish1:

And done..... Three days, including a 2 hour car ride home from the zoo on Father's Day (wife drove :-) and I have finally read every post! And... Wow!
I am so impressed and learned so much! Thank you for taking the time to share! One of the things I love about this hobby is you never stop learning, and you can't ever stop trying to be better. Always room for improvement. Great life lesson.

Wife and I have 9 reef systems going in the house right now, and are starting to plan our big 380 project. (That is what brought me to your thread) learned so much! And I am not a beginner.

Any advice out there for our 380 tank and 500 gal system, the main problem is that we won't have an equipment room so everything needs to be under the tank. Can we pull it off? Advice?

Dave, also noticed you are in mortgages. I am a loan officer for Wells Fargo, who do you work for? Crazy times with the rates so low, I can't keep up with demand! Looks like I will fund around $8M this month but I might die of a stroke before I get there!!

Thanks again! Bill in Charleston, Sc

Dang man always looking forward to the updates.. I just subscribed to your YouTube page to be notified on both fronts lol.. Awesome man.. Gotta be bummed the frag tank is already almost at capacity.. J/k that's a great thing to have.. Love the frags in the overflow good thinking:).
