my new anemone just moved across all my live rock to get to my powerhead and got sucked up. i dismantled my powerhead and the anemone is is still stuck. what should i do? do i just tug on it til it comes free? do i i cut it off - will it grow back? help

Put it in a bucket of tank water and see if it will free it's self.Do not tug on it you will only damage it more.If the foot is ok you might get lucky.

I'd just turn off that PH and let it work itself out if it can.
You may need to carefully cut the screen or help it gently, but don't tug.
Lots of nems have been pretty torn up and survived.
Cover intakes better, or block w/ LR so it won't happen again.

WOW, I typed b4 pic was posted.
I'd pull it and QT as a last chance effort, but looks pretty bad.
Damaged tents heal, but the foot is another story.

its pretty bad, but it isn't exactly the foot- like the pic makes it look. it was actually more of the side, maybe just a tiny piece of the foot.

I've seen nems that looked like obvious gonners do a surprise comeback.
Just keep an eye and make sure you don't fowl your tank.
Good luck.

so what do i do. the ph was off overnight and it wasn't able to free itself. this morning, before work, i removed teh bottom plate of the ph and attempted to free it, but couldn't- its pretty much stuck. because i was late for work, i just kept the plate off and put it back in the tank, plate and all attached. probably not the best idea, but i figured it wouldn't ruin my water before i got back home.

I probably would have done the same thing.
Check it again when you get home, and set up QT if you can or the 5g bucket as grinch suggested.
I of course would do best to save it, but don't fowl whole tank in the process.
It'll most likely be fine till you get off work, but clear the problem asap.

It might survive, but if you have a QT or can set one up I'd recommend doing so. And cover all powerhead/pump/intakes in future, please!
