anemone floating around

I got a flourscent green LTA, its confirmed that it wasn't dyed. When I put it into my tank, I put it on the rocks, but within hours it moved to the sand and stayed there.
It was in the same position for almost a month, then it moved slightly about 2-3 inches away from its old spot. In this new spot my maroons started hosting in it and everything was fine till I moved a power head and it started getting too much flow.
Next thing I know its gone to the back of the tank on a rock and is all happy there. Anyway I left it there and the next day just an hour after lights out I found it stuck on a powerhead (koralia type powerhead).
Anyway I immediately shut off the power head and the anemone came right off without any apparent damage. now the anemone wont stick to anything, it keeps floating around here n there.
I switched off one of the powerheads to give less flow in the tank so that the nem has time to settle.

The tentacles are very very sticky and the base is RED without any signs of damage to either the tentacles or the base.
it now sits on the sand on its side but has not attached yet and its been over a day.
how do I get it to plant its foot, or should I just leave it for a few days?
also I used to spot feed it before, but it no longer eats now.
the clowns still host in it.
any help would be appreciated.

okay try and keep the clowns from it for a day or 2, and bury it foot in the sand bed. Also reduece the flow in its area til it settles in. There is a reason that he went floating either not enough light ,found source or water quality is not up to par.

it was cuz of the flow, but now I've turned one of the powerheads off.
the tentacles are still very sticky an it looks healthy.

I dont know the cause, but I can relate to you. I have a Seabe that drifted for 3 weeks before it finally found a spot it likes. I did as you are doing, watch the power heads, I removed two Korla heads so he would not drift at 15mph. Now its happy. Im not because he cant be seen from the front of the tank, but none the less, be patient. He's looking for a spot to settle in. Also, how old are your bulbs and what type of lighting? It may very well be looking for better light or a less intense spot?

yes gary its a M.doreensis

mborkush, my lights are about 3 months old and the LTA is about a month old.
its still super sticky on the tentacles whenever i touch it, and the clowns are still hosting it, its foot is all proper without any damage and it red.
but its still on its side, not attached yet
if it doesn't attach in a few days, then I will probably put a basket or something over it to stop the clowns hosting and get it to settle down before turning on the other powerhead

My anemone did the same thing in a power head except its foot swelled badly then after a week it completely feel apart maybe mine was an extreme x
Case but if u have a qt I'd put it in their to be on the safe side

Be careful opening up old threads. Some people get startled.

If it is damaged, espc its foot, then sometimes it will start a downward treck. As it can not get a good seal for inflation or deflation. It's foot, and one tiny hole, can be devistating at times.

Keep in mind a PH with a nem is a negative suction device. After a while the nem will just give up and be stuck to it. It is not as if it can see or pull it's self out of the way or off the PH. Let alone pushing the panic button "I have fallen and I can't get up".

People all the time state about PH and nem's ... I have seen more people with a mess on their hands because of NOT putting a simple foam cover on the powerhead.

If you really want that much flow then consider re-piping the tank and making greater closed loop sections or better overflow and return flows.
