I bought this anemone about 6 weeks and from what I been told it was a little bleached...but he was coloring up and doing good until my clown decided to host it around 3 weeks ago. Now it seems to be going down hill only opening up slightly and for a small amount of time...

i feed him around 3 times a week using frozen mysis shrimp, squid, and krill. Could he be splitting for some reason?

cal and mag low due to not dosing chemicals lately but even when parameters were stable it was worsening.

Alk - 9.6
Cal - 375
Mag - 1200
Sal - 1.026

odds are it is going down hill. it looks like you have a BTA. i had one die a while ago and it was depressing, but once it reaches what you feel is the point of no return you need to get it out of your tank. i know it sounds mean but a dead anemone will quickly release toxins and kill a lot of you tank.
I really believe most anemones begin dieing before people ever get them home. they go from the ocean to the vendors tank, then sit in a bag for around 24 hours and go into the lfs tank, then get ripped off of whatever they are on at the lfs and taken home and put in another tank. and these guys are very sensitive to water changes.
The one i have right now i picked up from the lfs as soon as they received it from their vendor, they didn't even get it out of the bag. and it is doing great.

I've had a lot of Anemone in the past and they all died. I recently bought the red rose amemone. This time I add iodine and magnesium. Also you need to keep your water clean.

I've read some information on the label of my magnesium bottle. It said if your water is low on magnesium no matter how much calcium you add in your tank will not raise your calcium level. Also you will need strongtium as well.

I don't dose anything to my tank other than Ca and Bicarb and food. Water change is what I use to keep trace elements in line. Feed it larger food items and do water change, ad don't add any Iodine or other trace elements.

I've been using IO salt which is low in mag and cal so I dose both but I haven't had the time to get the additives till 2 weeks later...but should I really give up on him now?? and could it be my tank isn't mature enough yet (6 months old)?
