Anemone HELP!

just got my first anemone-long tentacle
I put it in the tank, turned the powerhead and lights off and set it where i wanted and kinda rested my hand on it to keep it there, jut for a few seconds
It is moving/floating around the tank, but keeps going to the filter, mouth first, and staying against it.
so, first off, is it ok for it to be doing this?
second, if not, ho do i remedy it?

No, it is not ok for it to be getting sucked into the powerhead. Dig an area out for it in the substrate and leave the powerhead off for a little while to give it time to attach. What kind of lights and what size tank do you have?

its a 30 gallon with T5-HO lights.
I moved him to the other side of the tank and put him between a couple rocks, but still in the sand. he isnt moving around so much. his tentacles move a lot when my clons get close, :), but he isnt just floating around, though he is still on his side

If it is healthy it will want to dig down into the sand. They like sand at least 3 or 4 inches deep, and if possible, try digging a deep valley by a rock and setting it there. With any luck it may grab the rock and work it's way down.

A long tentacle anemone that is not buried in the sand will "blow" around the aquarium. It does not have the same ability to anchor to rock as the "rock" clown anemones, so holding it to rock won't get it to attach. Try to bury it up to its tentacles in sand. Don't worry about burying it too deep - it can completely submerge (during storms or whatever) and can work its way back up to the surface.
