Anemone HELP!!!

My BTA looked fine all day today....the tentacles all seemed normal and thick. The lights on the tank went out one our ago, and I just noticed that it looks bad. Most of the tentacles look thin or shriveled up and they all are resting on the center of the anemone. Also, a weird white "rock" looking thing is sticking out of the mouth. Any suggestions? Is this normal at night? THanks,
Matt

I'm no expert (plan on getting my first BTA soon) but I've read that they can shrivel up quite dramatically when they are expelling waste and/or acclimatising to a new system.
But it is a bad sign when the mouth starts turning itself inside out, which sound's like the 'rock' looking thing you described.

A pic of it and your tank specs (esp lights) and params would probably help some more experienced anemone keepers make a clear diagnosis.

In the meantime have a look at http://www.karensroseanemones.com/ ...there's some excellent BTA advice there. Maybe try asking in the Anemones forum too, those guys know their stuff :)

Good luck, I hope it's ok!

It ate today about 8 hrs ago. I've had it for 2.5 weeks.
ph=8.2
ammonia=0
nitrate=slightly over 0...but not much
nitrite=0
temp=78
salinity=1.025

I should also add that all of the other corals/fish in the tank look fine. Even the BTA looked normal until the lights turned off....I'm not sure why this wouldve happened since it looked fine not too long ago.

ok so it sounds like this is normal which is a huge relief. Sorry I panicked, but I hadn't seen this before and it naturally took me by surprise. Thanks for the help everyone,
Matt
