anemone hole in middle

My GBTA got sucked up into my MP40. Luckily it never made it to the impeller. I turned off the pump and there was only a little bit stuck in the slits that I easily worked out (slowly). The anemone of course does not look great. The one thing I noticed is that the only real tear I see is that there is a hole in the middle (basically the mouth ripped open). Should I cut it the rest of the way or see if it will do it on its own? Or will the mouth come together again? The anemone is about the size of a silver dollar now that it is all shrunken up. I put it in a protective chamber with a rock to allow it to hopefully heal. I just wonder if it would make sense to cut it in half since the middle is already ripped all the way through. Would it take less energy to heal if I did that?

thanks.

I would just leave him I had a haddoni that got caught up in a tunze 6125 4 times over a period of a year recovered every time. As long as e was healthy before he should be fine

i would just cut it in half take the chance to trynsomething new and u might get two out of it go threw the mouth

I was considering that but figured it might do it on its own. So far it is still hanging on but is definitely not healed at all. At least it hasn't really bleached and has taken a foothold (actually it walked to a new spot on the rock).
