Anemone-How to bury "foot"?

How do you get an anemone's foot to stick into a sand bottom. I tried to scoop out sand but it keeps falling back into the hole. Should I use rubble instead to contain it in one spot? and will it bury itself in?

its best to let it bury its foot in the sand next to either a rock or the side of the tank or something instead of being out in the open. If you spread the sand out and make it shallow it will start to pull itself down into the sand and you can push the sand around it the make its foot buried deeper. what kind of anemone?

It's a sebae (H. crispa)

What color is it? (( reason I ask is it is fairly common for those to be sold in fairly bad shape --- white or yellow ))

You cannot bury the anemone's foot. If he is healthy, he will bury his foot otherwise he won't. I often put a piece of liverock into the bag when I transfer the anemone from the LFS home. Healthy anemone will at least attach to the rock then I can put this rock to where I think the anemone will like, and it does the rest.
