hey all, i finally got my camera back up and working and was wondering if anybody could I.D. these 2 small anemones i have. i have had them for about 2-3 months now and they are very hardy. well on to the pics.

those are the best pictures i could get. the red anemone has split 3 times since i have had it and i have had that one for about 6 months maybe longer.

the green/pink anemone i have had for about 2-3 months and they have not split yet. i have 3 of them 1 big and 2 small.

thanks for the help.

Garygb, I think that are pretty small, if you click on the pictures it takes you to the full size version -- compare the size of the anemones to the runners from the caulerpa.

Wonder if they are manjos ( sp )

If they are that small, you might be right. Also the fact that they are splitting (at least the red ones) at such a small size sounds like majanoes, huh?

the anemones came from a LFS and they told me the red one was called a rage anemone and they didnt know what the other was called.

they are all small but the green/pink one is a decent size. the shell its on is a large shell. the red ones are smaller but they used to be bigger until they split. they havent split in awhile either. kinda look like bubble tips, but i have a fealling they are not. i think they are too small to be.

ok, i cant get the search button to work for me as always. i have never once got the search button to work without giving me and error and telling me to pay for a premium membership....Bah...

what are manjos? anybody have some pics so i can see what they look like? thanks all

ok so i found a picture of majano anemones on chucks addiction. from what they say they are a bad anemone but they are to pretty to kill. they will stay for the time being and if they spread then maybe i will give some away.

still no luck on the red ones though.

i agree with phender. try a search for a waratah anemone. i dont know if they split though. i think i read they release fully developed offspring from their "mouth".
