Anemone ID Chart?

I agree, I think the RC FAQ is very helpful, I try to direct new people there when possible. I'm very grateful for all the time that people put into it.

I was just wondering if there was something more printer friendly and easier to take with me to narrow things down more quickly. Then when I have a possible ID, using the FAQ to get all the good info.

Thanks for the info on the avatar. It looked a little like my scolymia, but not quite.

You might want to look at this:

thank you, now I don't have to go find the book :)
You're completely right, the FAQ here is better :)

Still, not quite what I was looking for, but thank you for posting the link, I appreciate it. Now I know it's not what I'm looking for and I don't have to spend time tracking down the book.

The book has an anemone ID chart that the online site omits.

Yes, thank you for the images with descriptions. As it has already been said, I'm sure it will help many out to understand some of the differences in different anemones, and how they can better take care of them, or where to start out.

Yes! It is a very convenient format (if it weren't for my posts in the middle of it), listing the major deciding factors in common anemone identification along with pictures that visually distinguish what is written.

I feel much better now. :)

If anyone else has any other pictures of different anemones that I did not mention, feel free to post.

No one can tell me what these are!!

I bought this anemone and was told by LFS that it is a "baby bubble tip". I told him it didn't look like a bubble tip and he assured me it is. I brought it home, but worried it might be Majano, I stuck it in my QT tank by itself with only a small piece of live rock. I searched online for it and found only one match on all of Google. That one match was being argued over as well. If anyone can ACTUALLY identify this for certain, as in they have seen this and know full well what it is, I would really love the help. What isn't going to be helpful is the same back and forth bubble tip/Majano arguement. If you've seen this and you know it to be an aggressive reef take over species, please let me know. This is the one ?I found online:

You can't see it on here but it also has the "frost" spots on the bubble tentacles just like the light colored one and they have identical face markings. I'll try to get a better pic up.

From the pictures it could be both.
The only two things that really give you clarity is a) DNA sampling and b) feeding it like crazy and see if it grows to be a BTA or stays small and rather splits like a majano.

I have the same anemone, no info that I can find, mines about 3" across most people still try to tell me majano but I think elsewise
