I really thought this was a green BTA, but thought I'd ask. No verrucae (spelling?) on it. It's a deeper green than you can see in the pics and has purple tips. He's a big boy!

Am I right? Is he a green BTA or something else?

12-16" across is not uncommon for BTAs, in proper conditions it appears some are comfortable beyond 20".

Hi AliKat, I bet yours will turn green after a few months in your tank and keep its purple tips. This is what mine looked like before it turned green.

Thanks! It's definitely green right now. It was a brighter green, but got a little bleached in the move, I think. It's huge now. Nice and happy, with purple tips. Hope it gets to be a brighter color!

It looks like a Carribean anenome, the purple tips are common and they often can be found
with green coloration, they grow to a huge size and the tenticles take on all sorts of shapes. the tenticles on yours seem too long to be a BTA, what color is the base?

Same color as the tentacles. A green. More of a muted green right now, but it was brighter when I first got it. I think the move stressed all of the anemones a little. They are just now starting to perk back up again.

It's gotten a more neon green kind of color. It's getting brighter each day. Big thing, too. I really hope it is a BTA because I want to have babies of this thing!

What are the characteristics of a Caribbean anemone? I have never seen or heard of one of those.
