I purchased a rather large anemone (cheaply, I may add) that is approx. 9-10" wide from a LFS. The LFS wasn't completely sure on what type of anemone it was. He was leaning towards LTA, but that's not what it looks like to me. My thought is it may be a bleached Ritteri/Magnifica.
It is quite pale with a light pink hue. The tips are white (the ends bubble slightly when it's happy) with what looks like a tiny pin-hole at the end of each one tentacle. The base seems faded, but you can tell it should probably be a brighter/darker pink or purple. I'm sure this guy is bleached. This anemone has never ended up on the sand bed and prefers the higher rocks. I have never seen it ball up.
The first day I got it the tentacles were not sticky. After 2-3 weeks, they are now. I was able to feed him krill, which he slowly ate.
My skunk clowns have taken a liking to it.
The anemone is in a 150g tank with 4 3" BML lights.
I have attached photos. The first 3 photos were taken the 1st day I had this guy in my tank. The last 2 photos are from almost a week ago.
