I bought a BTA and put him in a established 4 year old nano under 150W halide. He was doing great staying in one spot and opening up feeding very vibrant in color.

I just recently upgraded to a 57 Gallon under 156W of T5, MP40 75% power for flow. cycled and params all check out. moved over coral and fish and there all thriving.

However my nem is not happy he only opens up less then half of what he did before. ive spot fed him a few times, but still hasn't got puffed up to the original size.

Its not moving around just in one spot. Do you think its the light change? flow? placement?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

How long has it been like this? If it's only a few days, don't sweat it. It should be fine, it's just getting use to it's new home. As long as it is still attached to the rock, you should have no worries. If it let's go and floats around the tank, then it's time to remove it. In the meantime, don't mess with it, feed it or anything. Just leave it alone.

Of course, all of the above assumes your water parameters are in the normal range.

Our BTA reacts more to light changes than anything else, and it is very unhappy under anything less than 150W MH. Good luck!

It also depends on the fixture of t5s.. I had a bubble under a pc happy even but it was really close to the light while I switched tanks.. as long as its sticky not bleached and tight mouthed just let him adjust

I might move the rock its on closer to the top. Since its not under 150W of direct light like the halide. Now its just under 156W T5 which is more spread out but the tank is also deeper aswell so its def a light adjustment.

thanks for the reply's!!
