Try to move it to the sand. They will get more happy then.

I believe that's a haddoni as well. They don't need a ton of sand and will often stretch through rocks to get to it. But will be happier with their foot buried a little.

My question too! I've always been curious about nem care and too much handling vs. too little.

I didn't say it wasn't happy. Only recommended the ideal location for that species.

I think by looking at this picture that you have a Haddoni. About 95% sure. The pic is not very clear.

Make a hole in the sand bed and put the haddoni there. He will bury his foot down further and attach to the bottom of the tank.

Does he look like he's light starved? Maybe that's why he's settled high up on the rock work like that?

I almost thought it may be a gig because I've NEVER seen a purple Haddoni, but I'm sure they have em.

That's what made me think the OP knew what they had, purple haddoni are pretty rare, and it was on rocks.

I think I've only seen one in person, and this one in a post.

Haddoni are not -fond- of moving if they can help it, from what i've noticed in threads along here. They will if they really have to, but I'm thinking if they're decently protected and getting enough food they wont. Not sure though, I'm not experienced with them.

I had placed it on the rocks were it is, as I tought it looked good, but I didn't know they preferred sand. And regarding to the food yes it's being fed pretty well about 2-3 times a week as my clarkii steals pieces of octopus/shrimp/muscles I feed my snowflake eal and rushes to his anamone to feed it, I for food she is over fed for sure. about location should I replace it on sand or leave it lone now. It doesn't open full like the pics you guys posted earlier, but I don't know if it has anything to do with the location...

I think you better move it to the sand.

I agree....they tend to like the sand and edge of the reef. They will attach to bottom of the tank.

He's not looking as good as he was in earlier pics.

Is he able to stick to bottom?

Touch his tentacles and see if they're sticky...

He needs good light and flow, something is off.
