Hello,
I was wonering if there is such a thing as an anemone that stays somewhat small and isn't a known mover. I would like to get one that will host some clowns and I don't want it moving all over the tank. Am I asking to much? :)
Thanks,
Bill

Keeping an anemone happy will be the best bet for keeping them in place. "Happy" will change with each type of anemone.

As for staying small, how do you define small? Most hosting anemones can/will get over a foot across.

I have a RBTA that moved around a bunch when we first got it. After a month or so it stayed in one spot, cloned itself and then it and its clone has stayed in the same spot for over a yr now.I`m lucky it has stayed happy there. Mine also have gone from small to huge in that time period. I`ve seen other RBTAs that move all the time and have grown a bunch and some that just stayed small. Its really hit or miss almost......Move the water flow pattern or a light change could just make them up and move without notice

I really have no choice because if my anemones go berserk, that means I have a 10" RBTA, 10" GBTA, 12" GBTA, 14" GBTA, and a bunch of smaller nems wondering around my tank... that probably means good-bye to all my everything... Luckily I keep them happy and they stay in the same spot... but last night I introduced a 12" and the 10" started to move! :(
