Anemone Question

That all depends. Whats the total wattage of the PC fixture? How deep is your tank? What kind of anemone? There are many factors here.

I had a condy in my aquapod with less pc's. It did great and actually began to outgow the tank. I moved it to my larger tank with mh and it really began to grow. So yes it can be done. I fed it every 3 or 4 days as well.

I say your best bet would be to go with an E. quadricolor (BTA). I personally wouldnt do it though. If you have to the BTA would be the best choice since they stay on the rockwork. Hopefully you can get it to stay towards the top.

So If I was to order one off of SWF it would be the bubble tip anenome? There it says strong lighting and others say medium

I have a Rose BTA in a 55 gallon with 384 w PCs (4 * 96w ... 2 dual daylight, 2 dual actinic)

It lives near the top but is big and happy and has been for over 3 years. 130 watts seems low for any anemone, but they can thrive under PCs.

You're welcome and good luck.

Here he is a couple years ago. He's about 12" across now when he spreads all the way out. Got him as just a little thing in March, 2004.

i'm a newbie and was wondering if ur able to keep an anemone with coral. If so, is there any specific anemone that more compatibles?

BTA's do fine under PC's. They farm them under normal output lights. The trick is finding one that is healthy to start out with. If you get it at the LFS, have them feed it, it should be "sticky". Food easily sticks to the tentacles of a healthy anenome.

So you think that if I put it at the top it will work out. Would the bta from SWF.com work?

Make sure they are guaranteed... I prefer to see things like that before I buy it

Thanks, Im ordering in July. I am normally on the SWF forums but I will post here whenI get it. What should I feed it and how often? Should I add anything to the tank for it?
