Anemone sick?

How do i know if the anemone is sick. I read that article in new to hobby about anemone, and it said something about an open mouth. The mouth of my anemone looks open but also looks like something is block it. It is a GBTA, is the mouth suppose to look like a slit or is it rounded?

It looks some what opened but not totally opened. I have only had this for 2 days now. The first day it was in my tank it looked fully bloomed, today it moved and is open but not as big. I also just added my 2nd powerheads today to add more flow. So far the anemone is under 250w hqi, 2x 1200 maxi jet, remora HOB. Water temp doesnt seem to be flucuating, i havent checked params yet though.

I put a picture in my gallery that I found off the web that closely resembles the mouth of my anemone. It looks similar to this but round. My anemone is maybe about 3 inches big

I will try that. But is there any major signs that i should look for in an anemone when i know he is not going to make it?

not to offend anyone working in a pet store but anytime I want to check out what diseases look like on a critter, I just go to one that I know is gonna have sick fish, anemones, corals.... (re: something-co ) Descriptions are hard to go on so with a vague idea, i go to the pet store and I have seen ick, fungus, melting anemones (seriously, it melts), ****ed off corals, dead conch, in-bred fish...

My theory: if your anemone eats and stays in one place, i'd say don't really worry about it (as long as your water params are ok and has sufficient light). :) and there's always the search function.

Hey ate the first day. I looked at him this morning before I went to work and he looks wide open and expanded out. I think that is a good sign, but he seemed to have moved. Which is probably caused by me putting new powerheads in the tank.

If you fed him the first day and then he wasn't looking quite so open the next, he could have just been expelling waste. Eating is a very good sign.
Good luck!
