Anemone split info

Hello,
My rainbow bubble tip anemone just split and I have a hard time finding more info about it. Can someone please point me to the right direction where to read more about anemone splitting process?
I have this anemone since April, it was a cute little guy and it grew to over 18" ever since but today starting early morning I saw it doing weird things, it never moved from it's place since introduced in the tank and now was stretched on two rocks... it looked like a long and painful process that lasted for hours...brrrr but it finally split and one part went back to its old place and the other one is searching for a spot trying the caves around the tank...
I fed the anemone once or twice since April, but not quite feeding, just whatever falls into it from feeding the fish Mysis shrimp....
The light is obviously appropriate since all the lps and sps and the anemone grew nicely... I have 300W of Chinese LED 12" above the tank and the water is 79F, pH 8.4, I can not detect nitrates and phosphates with Salifer kits nor with Hanna, Ca 475, Mg 1500, dkh 8.9

My large bubbletip just split into 3 overnight! I'd be interested in more information on them splitting as well. Following....

BTA's split for a various reasons, one of course is to reproduce, and if splitting infrequently over time that very well may be all it is doing.
They also split due to stress, so it's very common for sudden changes, new tanks/params, or unsuitable conditions they are basically sending out part of themselves for more suitable conditions as a survival instinct.
Sometimes just overfeeding can stress them into a split, or an accident like getting caught/torn in pumps.
Since yours was near it's full size diameter, it may have just reached the point of splitting as a natural reproductive behavior.
Excessive splitting would be reason for examining your tank, params, conditions it is contained to.

So once a year split is OK? To be honest I liked my anemone at that size... but the two I have now are about 9" diameter so they are not very small either. The only thing I changed in the pat 4 weeks was introducing ReefRoids food for my corals, but an insignificant amount...

To be honest I don't think anyone truly knows the frequency and that could vary, but my best guess is probably just fine and I would not really be concerned.
Your two will probably grow pretty fast.

Occasionally I will see someone say their nem has split, then split again not long after, maybe again soon after that, that is when I suspect issues.
