Anemone Split

How long should a splitting take? I think my rbta may be doing so, but its been looking that way for 1.5 days now.

Thanks!

It's usually done in a few hours. Either your anemone isn't splitting, or it's in serious trouble. Splits that last longer than a day generally don't end well.

I have to concur.

Heck I watched one of mine (( years ago )) split, think the whole thing took less then 15 minutes. Really wish I had a camera back then.

My anemone has decided to hid itself in the back corner of my tank. Hopefully he's OK and this was all a false alarm.

I'll get pics up as soon as he makes an appearance.

Do certain breeds of anemones split more than others?

I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge BTAs are the only ones that I am aware of. (( Haddonis will "bud", which I wouldn't consider a split. ))

H. Mags sometimes clone by splitting, but bta do it with more frequency.
