Anemone splitting?

I purchased a maroon clown a month or so ago and he came with his much beloved anemone, which was attached to a small rock. I put the rock into my aquarium and over the course of a day or so, the anemone dismounted the rock and planted her foot in a hole on the rock that was just under her small one. No problem... she seemed to be shrinking lower and lower and finally I realized that the hole went completely through the rock and she was extending her foot deeper and deeper until just her tentacles protruded. Last week, it seemed that she was going to go all the way through and come out of the lower hole - again, fine with me. But for the last several days, she has been in between with tentacles out of both holes, no foot in sight. I can see her mouth (the white lines) on the right side of the anemone, I thought I saw another mouth on the left side but I'm not completely convinced. I know I can't get her out of the rock without damaging her and it's not worth it - she's inflated and active, and eating... I tried feeding both sides tonight but neither was really interested (I fed her last night and her clown also feeds her shrimp). Is it possible that she has stretched her body this far? Or more likely that she has split or is in the process of doing so? Sometimes she seems to be predominantly on one side (usually the right in this pic, which is not the hole she originally dropped her foot into), sometimes it's pretty even...

Sorry for the quality of the picture; I've got to figure out how to take better ones... the white lights were one but it always manages to look dark.

It's pretty common for a BTA to split due to stress and new tank/params do that very often.
It does look like it from that pic.
I would not be so concerned w/ spot feeding, at least not often, that itself can actually stress and induce a split.
It may have been adjusting to light or flow, why it burrowed so deep

I rarely offer the anemone food directly because I see the maroon grab food and stuff it into the anemone so I figure it's not necessary, but I will spot feed less or not at all... while I don't mind one splitting, I don't want to induce stress unnecessarily. thanks :)
