anemone sting

Just wondering if anyone else has gotten stung by an anemone? I was wiping off the glass in my tank and my condy wrapped around my hand. It's done it before and I didn't think anything of it. The next day I woke up with red, raised, itchy lines on my hand. I'm not in any pain I'm just wondering what I can put on it to make it heal faster.

Condy's are known to have a stronger sting than others, but I've had similar happen from my sebae when I was REALLY wrestling around in tank up against her.
I had red dots on arm, kinda like flea bites, it went away.
For stingrays they say vinegar neutralizes unsprung stinging cells, and hot water to ease pain, not sure if nem has same makeup of sting cells, but I don't think it could hurt.
Just keep an eye in case of allergy.

Thanks! The second time I got stung (because I was removing it to trade it for something that wouldn't eat all my fish) I put vinegar on it but it didn't do much. Vinegar will only stop cnidocytes from firing so I'm assuming I didn't have any unfired on me. I'm glad they'll go away, although it would be a pretty cool scar to tell about. Thanks for your input.

wow, nothing happens to me... i have a condy, a sebae, and a new hairy carpet...

the carpet really sticks on you! lol...

My haddoni stung the crap out of my hand one time. It is so sticky that It took me about 5 mins to get it to let go, and even then I had small green tentacles stuck to my arm. I doused in vinegar and wiped them off... the next day my hand looked like it had been ravaged by fleas and it was itchy.

I know meat tenderizer works for new stings. I doubt it would help the rash left over from the stings, but it is worth a shot.

Try peeing on your hand, I have no idea or experience with anemone stings but it has worked for me with jellyfish and man-o-war stings.

I had a Ritteri sting me all up and down my arm (thing was a good 20" when open) as I was transferring him to another tank.

Vinegar helped dull the burning sensation. Arm was itchy for about four days after that. Out of all the anemones I've handled, only the Ritteri has stung me bad enough to notice. I now only handle them with gloves.
