Anemone stressed by water change

Yesterday I did my first water change in my 4 months old tank. I did about a 5-10% change. Afterwards, my BTA looked stressed, the bubbles went flat and it went down its rock a bit into hiding.

How do you minimize the stress for the anemone? Or is that normal behaviour for a water change?
The salinity was identical. The temperature was a bit lower though, about room temperature.

Thanks for any advice

A four month old tank is pretty young to have an anemone. You should really have waited until a year or more. That said, it isn't unusual for an nem to deflate occasionally in order to expel waste. As long as it doesn't stay deflated you should be ok. Are you testing for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates? Nems can put a pretty big load on your system.

What exactly is your "room temp" ? For me, that is 68*, and I keep my tanks at 76-83*, so that could be a big change.

What size tank?

Salinty with that small of a change wont freak the nem out but buy a small heater and heat your water.. I had a nem in my tank at 5 months and it was a healthy producer

Ok, thanks. I'll get an extra heater then. Didnt think, it would have such a big impact since the temp of the tank changed less than 0.5*C

About nitrite: didnt have any detectable amounts since more than 2 months but I'll keep an eye on it as well as nitrate.
