I have 2 clownfish and a rbta. Does anybody have any ideas to get them to host. Thanks!
What kind of clownfish?
The anemone is the host. It does the hosting.

Heteractis magnifica, Stichodactyla gigantea and S. mertensii are the natural hosts for ocellaris
If they are tank bred, they will have a higher chance of accepting a non natural host.
Just let them be and they will decide if the rbta is an acceptable host.

something tells be that captive bred ones dont tend to 'find' the anemone's...if they have been raised and in a tank their whole life (more than likely just in a box type aquarium by themselves) they dont even know what an anemone is, much less what to do with it lol. If you got a clownfish from the wild, im sure they would find it immediately. Atleast thats my .02
Ive had a pair of picasso's for a while, and they never go near my bubble tip, or any of my corals really :/

The answer has been clearly shown here in the nem forum many many times, people are frustrated, their clown won't enter their nem, often for many months, we suggest a natural host nem match and hosting begins immediately or close to it every time.
Not always the case. My Picasso took 6 days to accept my mag

It took my clown a few weeks to host my bta. I was just patient and didn't do anything to stress them out by forcing it to host. Now they can't get enough of each other.
Im having the same issue, two occellaris, wild caught and paired. I added a mag with the clowns at the same time, hosted in seconds. Mag didn't like my tank so i swapped in out for an RBTA, they have both been in there for weeks and the clowns won't even look at it.
should I get a mag or see if they'll host the rbta?
