Anemone Vs My Tunze

Ok so this is what I came home to on December 21. It was stuck in the little inlets on the tunze stream! Can you believe that? It took me so long to pry it out of the little slits in the cover, it looked so bad. It is doing well now, it is still hiding in the back, but taking brine and mysis. It looks fine, just not as opened as it used to be. There were little anemone pieces everywhere in the tank. I can't see its mouth, but it really does look fine. Let's hope for the best! I'll take some pics when the cloudyness in my tank goes away, I just put some purple up in.

Geez, that's too bad. My BTA got sucked into a powerhead once, like you, it took me forever to pull it out of the intake slits, but I tried to be as careful as possible. Part of it turned gray and died off, but then it made a full recovery (that is until I used AZNO3... but that's another story). So they can be troopers, hopefully yours can get through this.

It would look ugly, but in the spring Home Depot and Lowes sell those pump baskets for swamp coolers. I've seen them in a clear poly about 4x4x4, just cut out a circle for outlet and fasten so open side is flush against glass. That should give you about an inch of clearance so it wont get sucked up again. Or find a disposable Glad container the right size and cut slits for vent and make your own. Good thing you caught it early, they can crash a tank fast.
