Anemones together

I have 2 GBTA and I just added a RBTA. The RBT keeps getting really close to the GBT. I was wondering if it was okay if all the anemones were close to each other and even touching?

Although they won't sting each other in the usual manner (so touching is okay), they can chemically inhibit one another. Depending upon your tank size, if you end up with several clones of one BTA and only one of another, the single can show symptoms of failing to thrive (smaller expansion, less aggressive feeding, frequent moving). If this happens, just make sure you target feed the "victim" anemone and things should be fine. Also, running carbon couldn't hurt.

I thought chemical warfare only took place with anemones of different species? I have never had any problems keeping anemones of the same species together.

It may be a matter of concentration. I've seen some pretty severe inhibition of my male RBTAs (I have 2 clones) by my females (I have about 30).
