My wife woke me up at 4:30 this morning(central time) to tell me that my large anenome was sucked up in the powerhead inlet filter. She turned the powerhead off and I got the black plastic piece off and the anenomes' tentacles were all inside the kinda shriveled up. I let the anenome sink to the bottom of the tank. Will it recover without fouling my tank or should I just throw it out. It still is puffy in the body and the color is good, it just has that little black inlet part of the powerhead with its tentacles stuck in it still on top of it. Any help will be much appreciated

What kind of anemone is it? if it was healthy it may recover on it's own. Just keep the water really clean and don't disturb it and it may be okay. Let it pull its tentacles out on its own. And if it looks like it is melting get it out asap as it can foul your water.

I had similar problem with water flow. it was healthy, and it recovered in a few days, but very stressed.
It was a LTA and it was all up inside the intake screen. When I got home my wife told that it was almost all the way out of the screen and she just lightly pulled on it and it came the rest of the way off. It is very puffy looking but I think it will be just fine in a few days. It was Max Jet 1200 that it was stuck in and it was somewhere between 1-4 hours. Thanks for the posts but I think all is fine now.
I had a BTA get sucked into a 1200. He let himself out of the grate within a day. I put him in the sump and he was recovering nicely until he found his way through eggcrate and into a MagDrive 1600 which is less forgiving. It was lame. I wanted him to live.
I have been told that as long as an anemones foot is not shredded it has a good chance of surviving. My seemed to follow this rule as he was moving around quite a bit after the first chopping.
