Does anyone have a flame angel or any other kind of angel fish that doesnt bother corals? I just wanted to see if any of them are considered reef safe.
I have had a bad experience with flame angels in my sps reef in the past, but I got a multicolor angel almost 3 months ago and he hasn't bothered anything...it is hit or miss with angels
I also have a Flame Angel and a Swallow Tail both have been good citizens. It's my Regal Tang that eats all of my zoas, (had to move them to a separate tank).

With many angels their tastes change as they mature.
JB NY has 3 Flames in his tank with no problems yet.
Zoas can be a problem with many species of ngels.

I was given some great advice by an oldtimer years ago. He said "If you want to add an angelfish to an aquarium with corals or clams do it, just know that one day you may have to catch that bastard." This is not to say I haven't tried it a dozen times . And I have had luck with known coral eaters and had "reef safe" guys go rogue. I think someone else mentioned it, every fish has it's own personality
Since I love angelfish I now keep my corals in a different tank
Good Luck Sal
I have a coralbeauty, flame, lamark, watanabei, venustus, regal majestic and emperor. The regal eats colorful zoas, emperor eats zenia, but the rest are model citizens, however they are fed 4 or 5 times a day with a variety of food.....regards Pete.
