What is the smallest size tank recommended for more than one dwarf angel? I have a flame angel now but wondering if it would be possible to add a different type of dwarf angel as well. tank is a 72bow with 20g sump thanks

I have had 3 dwarf Angels in a 55 gallon before . A flame , a coral beauty, and bi color , they were all added at the same time . I broke the tank down so no longer have them

I used to have a Potters in a 66 g for the first 2 1/2 years he was good then when he got to 4 1/4 inches he looked like he was starting to find the aquarium small.

Your tank size could support 3-4 easily possibly more depending on aquascape

I usually prefer more of the same species to get the social component of their behavior.
All pygmies and most dwarfs can be kept in harem groups. Some dwarfs live in bonded pairs (C. bicolor, C. eibli, C. narcosis, C. nox, C. venusta).
Especially the pygmies tend to go crazy when kept alone.
Closely related species may form inhomogeneous pairs if they can't find a mate of their own kind (happens even in the wild).

Just be sure to try and add at the same time . If multiple species . They are less likely to fight .

For some of the more difficult species, for example, multibarred, do you recommend getting 3 together?

thanks for the info. was thinking of adding a lemon peel with my flame. any thoughts?

Rearrange the rocks a little bit then add the lemon peel , that way the flame angel is kinda confused about the tank surroundings
