What would you recommend for a 120g. SPS/LPS tank that has a .75" sand bed? Only other flow is a mag9.5 on a locline return "Y'd" from back top middle.
* I would like to run one at a time from opposite sides.
-also can i just use a magfloat for the tunze magnet?

thanks alot!

What type of LPS? Brains or Euphyllias or both? Basically I don't like Streams with Euphyllias, they tend to not open and slowly decline unless special positioning arrangements are made to shield the corals from the flow. How fine is the sand?

The magfloats may work but what makes the mag holders special is the catamaran style design which makes them very stable and prevents rotation. We tried for quite sometime to make a mag holder and this was what made it possible. Without this, if the pump is bumped, the whole unit could move.

the sand is carib-sea arag.(fairly fine)
as for LPS....echinophyllia/one hammer/macedenia(sp.?)/one plate
SPS acro, monti cap, mont. diji.

it seems that after two streams and a controller for alternating wavemaking, i'm at the same place as a wavebox......would that be a better choice? enough flow?

sorry for all the ?'s

I would go with a wavebox and a 6000 Stream. I would place the hammer farthest from the Stream. If you put the Stream in a Stream rock you will greatly minimize the movement of the sand bed because it angles it up slightly.

how much goes on lip of tank for a wavebox....i have a canopy that sits on rim of tank?
does the stream rock work if it is on top of side pane with tunze magnet?
thanks so much!

The rock holds the pump on it's own and is incompatible with the magnet holders. For the wavebox you would have to use the magnet holders since you have a canopy.
