Another Ocellaris?

I've had a large ocellaris in my 30gal with host anemone for a very long time. I'm rebuilding my 90gal and ready to transfer her this weekend. I thought maybe I should try to get a male ocellaris as a companion for her. Thoughts? And if so, I thought it would be a good timing to introduce both to the new larger tank at the same time before she gets territorial on it. Or I could get the new one and put him in the 90 and let settle in for a bit and then add her. I was going to do the anemone last. Any thoughts on best approach?

Just intro a small juvy in a speciment container and see how she draws to it before releasing it.

Any thoughts on whether I should even get her a buddy? I rescued her from someone else 6 years ago, so not sure how old, hasn't had a buddy before to my knowledge. I had a mated pair of tomatos a long time ago and it was so nice to watch them together.

If I could pair up every fish I keep I would, just seems right to me, so yes, I would at least try.
In a specimen container you can tell if she likes it before even releasing it, so if she does not accept it, no harm to the new guy.

Use a container like this, and it should be obvious if your female is curious or if she is trying to dart at and kill the new clown.

Thanks for this. I'll give it a try, probably next weekend. I just got her in the new tank, I'll move the anemone tomorrow.

I added a little guy this weekend and they became instant buddies. So happy I went for it!

Curious on thoughts of this behavior. As I mentioned, the two clowns buddied up immediately. The little guy was following my girl everywhere and she seemed fine with it. Even let him near the anemone. That lasted about 24 hours. Now it's like they could care less about one another. There is no aggression but they rarely hang out. He also doesn't go near the anemone at all. Is this odd behavior?
