Some others have mentioned similar issues earlier in the thread when putting pests like AEFW and monti eating nudis back into tank water after the bayer dip. But even if the bayer dip didn't kill them outright at certain concentrations, it at least stuns them so they fall off of the monti which still makes bayer a great removal tool.
I've done goniopora, no issues at all. 10ml bayer advanced / 1 cup water, 3-5 min dip.
IMO. I do believe that a full tank treatment is necessary if you have red bugs in your display already. It is insane to believe that these tiny bugs can be killed and eradicated by just dipping your sps colonies. If one or two get off the colony (which is bound to happen) you will have a re-infestation. Bayer is the way to go for all new coral additions and interceptor for the whole tank treatment. (if you can find some)I was curious to know after treating your sps for red bugs, does some of the red bug live in the live rock and start attacking the sps again. That is saying if you treat sps piece by piece to avoid nuking the whole tank.
The Bayer you can get anywhere, its the interceptor that is the problem.. I don't know of any alternative. Maybe someone else knows of something. So what is the next best thing if you can't find either the Bayer or the interceptor?

People have been using either one with similar results, both complete insect killer and the home pest products.
