What is this? It lives in the live rock crevices but have caught it out at night slithering across zoas, acros, etc. No corals were harmed though. It's a grey jelly like thing that slides across the sand.I have seen it eat a couple of snails too.

Well that explains the mystery. I bought an 2'' ultra blue maxima clam a couple weeks back. It did fine the first week. I placed it in the sandbed. Then everyday after work I come home and the clam is moved, unside down in the sand, on top of a rock, etc. It eventually stopped opening all the way. I suspected my blue tang or melanarus wrasse or bullseye pistol shrimp that I can't get out. One day the clam went missing. I looked everywhere, move rocks, displaced sand, etc. I couldn't even find the clam's shell. I figured it was dead after a couple weeks went by. Never figured it out... Well, I bet he was a victim of the polyclad worm who I have seen eaten Trochus snails double its size.

Tried to lure him out tonight with a piece of shrimp, never came out of the rocks. So, will try again another night.

I found some in my tank, never understand why clams just up and died so I gave up on them, then slowly all my snails started vanishing one nite I was checking out the tank with a flash light and I found it.. Some how though it made it into my filter sock (luckily)

I could only be so lucky. I will try a clam again once I catch this thing... come out come out whereever your are....

yep, cover your light with red tape, and hunt. they are fast, too!
maybe use a large siphon tube to suck it up, if you can catch it in the open...
there are also traps people have made, if you search
