Is there such a thing?
Because after I just counted up my anthias, I've come to realize I made need some serious counceling.:mixed:
My updated list of these beautiful fish is.
5 Ventralis (Pseudanthias ventralis)
3 Randalls (Pseudanthias randalli)
3 Lori's (Pseudanthias lori)
2 Red Saddled (Pseudanthias flavoguttatus)
2 Resplendent (Pseudanthias pulcherrimus)
2 Sunburst (Serranocirrhitus latus)
2 Tri Color (Pseudanthias rubrizonatus)
2 Aurora (Pseudanthias calloura)
2 Central Pacific (Pseudanthias aurulentus)

Such beautiful creatures that I keep finding new species to buy. I need to stop.

I try to feed as many as 5 times a day, but with work during the week it's usually 3 times a day. Also I try to keep my tank temp down , 74-76 F.

Bradley - I love that third pic. The angle and perspective makes it look like it was taken on the reef.

I hope this isn't annoying, but to what do you think you owe your success with anthias? QT regimen, feeding, temp?

I just tried and failed. Bought five healthy-looking bartletts from a reputable LFS. I lost four in QT and the surviving one died after a week in DT even though it was feeding vigorously on everything I fed (frozen squid, scallops, shrimp, cyclopeeze, ova, PE and Hikari mysis in the mornings, various sizes of NLS pellets from auto feeder three times a day). Very frustrating. I would try again if I thought I could have a better outcome, but don't want to keep killing fish in a vain (in both senses of that word) attempt to get the display I want.

By the way, I've got several fish (potters and singapore angels, orangespotted files, pipefish) that are considered tricky feeders that are doing very well.

Brad, your collection is second to none! Wow, these beautiful fish are lucky they landed in your sweet system. I think they love the 3' depth of your rad tank! Plenty of room to swim and hide in your great aquascape! Seeing these in person has been a pleasure! Keep up the good work buddy!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

No real trick, I just think its critical for them to feel safe, once that has happened, they start eating and never stop. I have a lot of rock with plenty of caves and ins and outs for them to hide in and feel secure. Stress kills IMO.
Bartletts get very aggressive by the way. That's why I don't have any.

Thanks Dave, but I know my tank is second to one. YOURS....

Hi Brad

here in Switzerland it is very expensive to buy a group of Anthias. They say the easiest Anthias to keep is the Anthias squamipinnis. Do you share this meaning? Here they wont sell you just a pair, they say you need min. 5.

Anyway I tried to keep 5 A. dispar, but they just disappeared as they did not eat.

cheers,
steven

Does the borb give the others any trouble?
Not really, I have two of them and they are pretty lazy compared to the others.

My addiction continues. I recieved a text from a friend who owns an LFS here in Salt Lake, who is also a good friend of Rufus.
Well, long story short. I now have a pair of Sakura anthias, via Koji-Rufus-Randy.
Thanks for keeping the addiction going strong.:debi::deadhorse1:

Amazing! Do you have long term success with all of them? Or are you constantly losing the weakest? Do males of different species fight? Do you think it is easier to mix species or stick to only one?
