Anthias Tank

I am setting up a 3"x2"x31' 118g non photosynthetic tank and i would like to stock it with just anthias. Would i be able to keep these four type of anthias in this tank without and serious fighting?

3x Ignitus Anthias (Pseudanthias ignitus)
3x Squareback Anthias (Pseudoanthias pleurotaenia)
3x Fathead Sunburst Anthias (Serranocirrhitus latus)
3x Carberryi Anthias (Nemanthias carberryi)

I agree with the Squarebacks, they can get quite large.

I just picked up a trio of Randals not to long ago, very nice so far. Look into those as another, not so often seen option.

Fatheads are not true Anthias, but I have successfully raised a pair with a bunch of Dispars for 3 years now. Now, the last two times that I have tried to introduce a third Fathead to the group, my male went ape and was not satisfied until that third fish was out of the tank. He did not have issues with others species of Anthias. My SB's I keep in the 400G tank due to their size and also due to the fact that they can be aggressive to other smaller Anthias. Hope this helps.

hmm never seen a tank that is 3 inches long, 2 inches wide and 31 feet long. i wouldnt even keep pods in there!

lol sounds like if you take the SB's out itll be a nice tank stock wise. if you want/need to have 4 trios/groups on anthias look at dispars, i like those guys.

I guess i messed up on the little marks. I should be 3'x2'x31"....lesson learned.

Thanks for the information guys, it will save me some trouble down the road. I will replace the square backs with a smaller type of anthias or maybe even narrow it down to 3 types of anthias. The flat heads are neat looking, but with the information provided maybe i should not go with them or if i do only add 2 of them.

Consider dispar instead of ignitus...they get slightly smaller. Also look into smithvanizi and parvirostris... very pretty and quite small. Ventralis would be great, if they weren't so difficult.

OK i have a new line up now.

3x Carberryi Anthias (Nemanthias carberryi)
3x Sunset Anthias (Pseudanthias parvirostris)
3x Dispar Anthias (Pseudanthias dispar)
3x Ventralis Anthias (Pseudanthias ventralis) or Randall's Anthias (Pseudanthias randalli)

I understand the Pseudanthias ventralis will be tough to keep and am up to the challenge. I will have several feeding times though out the day to feed the non photosynthetic corals anyways. Eventually i will have a mini refrigerator set up for feeding several different liquid foods.

I want to try and keep the smaller anthias, but i also am looking for a nice color difference between the anthias too.
