Any Idea Why My Snails Congregate Here?

Just added this frag to my tank (don't remember what it's called),
Now all of my Cerith snails lay around it all of the time.
I thought they were dead, grabbed one & he popped back in
his shell. They are all alive. Forgot to mention that they are
all upside down in a circle around this frag., kinda like a campfire.
This all began with the addition of this frag.

Are they worshiping the coral?

Uh-oh Keep an eye out for holy wars:D
Nothing can destroy a tank faster!
Keep an eye out for uranium enrichment plants
I wonder do they make a uranium test kit?:D

I would get it off the sand. It may be stinging the snails and putting them in shock. If that continues they will eventually die. Plus the coral would prefer brighter light.

Whenever I add a new frag to the tank that has any kind of rock or disc attached to it the snails wont leave it for a day or two.

BINGO! +2

They are upside down because they are trying to clean the new piece and keep falling off. Mine do this everytime something new in introduced into the tank Never thought about the sting from the coral but that is more likely the culprit

the snails are trying to unionize and go on strike for improved pay and health benefits. It's hard to work out the details of the plan when they are scattered all over the tank.

hydnophora has a very potent sting and I am sure that snails are not immune. Careful where you place them they will sting their neighbors and grow rather quick.

Mine has gone to war with many of neighboring corals, but I love it none the less. I would agree it needs very bright light mine is right in the middle of two 400 20k's. It frags very easy and occasionally will drop a piece off by itself
